This is so exciting. I am doing my first ever giveaway…on the blog! If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that I am one of “those crazy planner people.” It’s so true. I love using my planner and having fun with it. Unfortunately, my Plan With Me posts have slowed down quite a bit because I haven’t been decorating as much but I know I will in the near future.
But since I have a bit of an overstock of supplies and planners that I am just not going to use, I decided to do a small giveaway! This is mostly going to take place on and through my instagram but I thought I would share it on here anyway. Plus, there are more photos and I can talk a little bit more about each of the items!
So, if you want to be entered into the giveaway, be sure to check out my Instagram! Rules will be posted on the photo!! You don’t want to miss out!
I seriously, have too many planners. I have actually had a few of the Classic Happy Planners and got rid of them. And a couple fitness planners as well. I really don’t use them. I was using the fitness planners for awhile to track my macros and what not but girl, that’s a TON of work! It lasted about 4 weeks and I started using an app on my phone. When it comes to actually planning out my week, I much prefer the pen-to-paper method anyway. So, that’s why the fitness planner is included!
I even had a few extra sticker sheets laying around, including a fitness pack from Me and My Big Ideas that are also meant for The Happy Planner. I figured, why not throw a few in there!
As for the scrapbook paper – you’re probably wondering why that’s in there. Well, I added the scrapbook paper simply because I use it a lot in my planners and if you’ve seen my posts, you might be interested in using them? Just a thought, I guess! I use them to add a little bit of a different color to the backgrounds of my weekly spread. Sometimes it actually helps me to make everything more coordinated.
I just figured that since I have a large supply of craft supplies and planner supplies, I’d just do a giveaway for someone maybe wanting to try something new! Maybe you’ll find a new passion. Best of luck to you!!
Hey guys! Welcome to another episode of Plan With Me! What is this? A vlog or a blog?! Haha. Well, I’ve thought about putting Plan With Me videos up on YouTube instead of writing about them and taking photos but this seems to actually work better for me. At least until I get my tripod for my camera.
Anyway, not only is this the last full week in February, it is also my last week on maternity leave. Insert completely sobbing emoji here. Seriously, it sucks but I am incredibly grateful that I got 18 long weeks home with my baby girl instead of the 8 that I got with my son. I guess I am just not ready to go back to work. Oh well, just a few more months until this is more of a permanent situation!
There isn’t a whole lot going on for this week but I am trying to just get things done with this blog and around the house. When I go back to work, I won’t have a lot of time for planning (the decorative kind lol) and for cleaning the house! But then again, there should be less learning to do if no one is ever home, right? I am probably going to be proven very wrong. Let’s see how this unfolds.
President’s Day meant a day off for the hubs. We decided to take the kids to the ImagineU museum and let little man explore. It was actually a really great day despite the rain. As you can see by the little umbrella and rain boots, it was rainy. And yes, I am talking about Monday because it is currently Wednesday and I still have yet to post this on the blog. We also ended up going to the Outlet Mall to hit up the Nike outlet but I didn’t find anything good. Then we were off to Carter’s where they were having a 50% off the entire store sale! Since little Miss likes to grow too fast, it was the perfect opportunity to get her some clothes! Babies just grow way too fast.
Anyway, let’s talk about the actual planner related things! I seriously had issues decorating my planner this week. I chose some craft paper, cut it out, and even glued it all where I wanted it. Turns out, I hated the color and I didn’t want it there anymore. So, I took it all off and I literally started over. Normally, I wouldn’t do such a thing because there would be risk of tearing the pages and that just wouldn’t work very well, now would it? Well, it did this time!
I took it all apart and just started going in with a new color scheme and this seemed to have worked out better for me. A lot of stickers worked better in The Happy Planner sticker packs and I used a few more OnceMoreWithLove stickers. I seriously love that shop.
That’s pretty much it!! I hope you enjoyed the photos!!
Yes, I finally have a post going up on a Tuesday (even though I prefer Mondays) instead of Thursday! Better to have my PWM posts in the beginning of the week and not the end.
Anyway, I was pretty excited about this spread for the week! No washi tape was used this time. Just craft paper and stickers. As I am sure you have noticed over the past few weeks, I am a huge fan of the floral prints. So, I was super excited to use the gorgeous rose craft paper I have in this week’s spread. It was just perfect for all of the pink I was going to use for the week.
As for most people who have kids and work (just assuming), we are going out this weekend. Friday to be exact. A friend of ours offered to watch the kids and it’s going to be nice. I put a bottle of wine and a wine glass on there but let’s be honest…we are going to go to the gym together without the kids! That’s the first part of our date! Hey, we take what we can get. We didn’t go on all too many dates after our son was born but now that we have two kids, it’s a little more difficult to get a sitter! Plus, little girl is still on the ta-tas.
We have another birthday party this weekend for a sweet, little one year old and on Valentine’s Day, a close friend of mine is moving to Japan. I am pretty sad about it. Her kids both are 5 weeks older than both of my kids. And we had recently gotten pretty close. This is the Navy life. And I should get used to it. I mean, it’s been almost 5 years already and I have seen friends come and go. But when I am out of the military, it will be interesting to see how I deal with friends leaving. I am wishing my friend and her family the best of luck, safe travels, and who knows…we may see each other again! The Navy isn’t THAT big! 😛
Well, that’s about it for this weekly spread! I am in my second to last week of maternity leave and then I will be headed back to work. There might be more in the planner…or less. Who knows?! But I will take these next few weeks and enjoy them because I know I am going to cry when I go back to work! haha.
Hey folks! It’s time for yet another “Plan With Me” post. Funny thing is, it’s Thursday and the week is almost over. But I had to try and post some photos anyway!!
I did actually find the time to decorate my Happy Planner and it was fun. It’s a big week in my life….
MY SON TURNS TWO. Insert all the feels and the tears. That is precisely how I am feeling at the moment! It’s really great watching him grow up but it’s still so sad seeing him go form a baby to a toddler. And we are celebrating his birthday with an “un-party” if you will. It’s basically just a big play date and food for everyone. I went ALL out last year for his first birthday and I really don’t feel like doing that again to be honest.
To me, the first birthday makes a lot of sense to go all out. Having themes and crazy decorations and everything just makes sense. But then again, growing up, I didn’t really have a lot of themes or large birthday parties either. I vaguely remember a 7th birthday party in the basement of my house where we bobbed for apples and played pin the tail on the donkey…but I don’t really remember any parties after that. They were more of a, “You can have 3 friends over. There’s pizza and cake.” Turned out just fine, actually!
This week was also the beginning of the 2nd phase in my 12 week fitness program. Didn’t know I was doing a program/challenge? Oh yeah, that’s because I still need to write about it! Oops! I’ll get to that soon.
I had to add the little superhero munchkin in there to help motivate me. 3 weeks down and 9 more to go! Unfortunately, I spent one of those weeks sick and just didn’t end up working out but it turned out okay!! I still saw some changes.
Man, I really need to do an update on that, huh? Hopefully next week I’ll have some goodies on here.
As for the rest of my life, there isn’t much. I’ve decided to do more documenting in my planner. Like, on Monday I drank a lot of coffee and really needed it while I vacuumed every room in the house. Maybe I’ll add a photo at the end of the week to this post as an “add-on” to recap what happened during my week.
I tend to take my PWM photos “before the pen” because:
I think it looks cleaner to see more white space.
I hate my handwriting.
But here’s the rest of the photos. I hope you enjoy! And yes, there’s a tiny human hand pointing at some stickers in my planner. He’s such a good helper.
Stickers are from The Happy Planner sticker packs and OnceMoreWithLove shop on Etsy. Scrapbook paper is from Hobby Lobby and the washi tape is from Michaels or Hobby Lobby. I keep tape for so long I don’t remember where they come from!
On Saturday morning, I was up fairly early with my kids. They both decided that it would be fun to wake up early and keep mommy from getting rest. I was sick and later on during the weekend, they got sick too. Or vice versa. I don’t know who got who sick. But we were all sick. It wasn’t fun! Anyway, my husband was home so I took advantage of some alone time by working in my planner.
I texted that exact sentence to one of my planner friends. I sent her a photo of my planner and she loved it. Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! haha!
I really don’t mind how my planner turned out but I guess I was just so excited about how the past two weeks turned out that I was hoping this week was going to be pretty amazing as well.
I used (of course), a bunch of the happy planner sticker packs and other easy stickers I already had. I used this little sticker kit from Sunday Palm. I got this kit in a huge pack of stickers I got from someone in Planners Gone Wild. I don’t know if the easy shop exists anymore but if you come across it, let me know!
There really isn’t much to report. Not a lot going on this week. But it’s cute. haha.
Also, those stickers on the left in the pockets of the binder are from one of my FAVORITE shops! OnceMoreWithLove <3 Little Munchkins are the best!
I even worked on my monthly view for February. The funny thing about the sticker kit I used…I was able to use it in 4 different places!
My classic happy planner (weekly)
My mini happy planner
My classic fitness planner
My classic happy planner (monthly)
I am looking into starting a vlog (again) and doing my plan with me’s on there instead!! We shall see how this goes. I’d like to keep my blog going but who knows what will happen. And if you’re reading this…you’re the first to know about it! 😉
I think it’s safe to say that I’ve got my planner creativity back! A few weeks…errr, months of not planning and decorating my planner did me some good. I was busy having a baby and preparing for her arrival anyway. Adjusting to having two babies at home definitely left me with NO time for planning…I wasn’t going to go anywhere, so why plan anything?
But since I set out to decorate and be in my planner for this year, I figured I would post every week! That plan seems to be doing MUCH better than my other challenge – A Year of Me: A Selfie A Day. If you’ve been following me, you can see that isn’t happening. Oh well, I tried. I think that’s why you’re not supposed to make a million changes at the beginning of a new year. You start slow and work your way through it.
ANYWAY, this is a planner post! So, let’s talk more about washi tape, stickers, and craft paper.
As you can see, there’s something new attached to my planner! I caved and bought the leather binder from Me and My Big Ideas at Michael’s. Hey, I had a 60% off coupon. I figured I might as well use it. Or was it the 60% off The Happy Planner sale? Either way, I got a good deal on it. And it’s GREAT! I love having everything I need in one little spot! I even created little pockets for my binder so that I can put some sticker sheets in them. Maybe I will do a post about what’s in my binder next week or something.
The stickers that I like to use are all of the new sticker packs that Me and My Big Ideas released not too long ago. There are TONS of stickers in these packs! And they make me so happy. Is that weird? Probably not, that’s why the planner is called The Happy Planner. I am not exactly sure what packs I used because I was in a hurry to get this done on Monday morning after my son woke up 3 hours earlier than normal. My daughter was still asleep so I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to work in my planner! I am pretty sure the sticker packs I had used came from Work It Out, Quotes, Mom Life, Memory Planning, and Productivity. Those seem to be my “go-tos” when I plan lately.
Last week, a friend of mine invited me on a trip to Hobby Lobby. Turns out, she invited me to see what kind of fabric I liked so that she could make my birthday present (how cute?!). But while we are there I notice that all paper crafts are 50% off…..crap. I needed up buying about 4 or 5 books of scrapbook paper and they are the prettiest pieces of paper ever! As you can see on the planner, there are some pretty, printed pieces of paper in the boxes. You’ll notice a trend…I like to cover boxes up to add more dimension and pops of color. I feel like if I used ONLY stickers, they planner would still look plain and wouldn’t really follow a “theme.”I also added a pretty rose piece of paper for a little extra depth of color form this GORGEOUS floral pack that I purchased as well.
The little bit of washi tape I had used was mainly from the Rose Gold washi tape pack from Me and My Big Ideas for The Happy Planner. Rose gold is gorgeous and very popular over the past year. I feel like 2016 was the year of rose gold…everything. Hey, I am definitely a fan. My iPhone is rose gold. I didn’t use too many of the rose gold stickers that come in the $4.99 Rose Gold sticker pack from MAMBI because…I don’t have a lot. I think they need a huge pack of JUST silver, JUST gold, JUST black, and JUST rose gold stickers. MAMBI, if you come across this page…I would love this. Thanks! 🙂 But seriously, the sticker pack is really pretty but I don’t like to use up all of my stickers on one spread!
As you can see, there isn’t a whole lot going on this week. My friend’s birthday is on Wednesday and I would’ve remembered that whether it was written down or not. We’ve been friends for about 12 years now. And then as you can see, there are little TV stickers on my week. Those were made but Fabulously Planned – love her shop – and I am so excited for this week in TV world! GREY’s ANATOMY is back!!! Not only that, I really got into How To Get Away With Murder when my daughter was born. I couldn’t work out for about 6 weeks after having her so, I caught up on every single season…til now. It didn’t take me long and now I am completely hooked. And guys, doesn’t Scandal come back too?! All of my shows on a Thursday! I don’t have cable though, so I can’t watch them until Friday anyway, but like to note when they come on. Monday is The Bachelor. I never really kept up with it in the past 5 years but my friend from high school came to visit a couple weeks ago and now I am watching it again. Oh boy.
Friday for “Girl’s Night In” is a Lularoe Birthday party!! It’s mine. Haha. A close friend of mine became a consultant so why not host a party and have a birthday party all in one? We can all hang out and shop.
Well, that’s pretty much it for my week. And as always, this is “before the pen.” I don’t need to add too much personal information in there. 😉 If you have any questions on what I used, please feel free to ask and I will try to find where I got everything. There are links throughout the post (and below) to find some of the things I mentioned! Thanks for stopping by!
Okay, I am not really partying this week, but it IS a week of birthdays, including my own!
I am not usually one to celebrate my birthday. I don’t usually like to and I don’t like having expectations. So, somewhere around my 16th or 17th birthday, I stopped caring so much. But somehow, people have made each and every birthday enjoyable and memorable for me. A lot happened when I was younger around my birthday (and even last year) that I kind of just, space out on it.
In the planner world though, I freaking LOVED this spread and it worked well for the birthday week!! So, I took a few photos while I was planning and then the finished product! I will link as many of the tools I used as I can at the end of the post. I realized I should give credit where credit is due!
I started out with picking out some stickers for the week. I haven’t used any kits lately and I had received a ton of kits awhile back from someone in Planners Gone Wild. She was selling a bunch of her easy stickers and I jumped on the opportunity to get them. Let me tell you, all of these stickers filled an entire 3″ 3-ring binder…okay not entirely because there is still room. But there is a LOT in there! This kit is from Sensibly Cute Planning and I loved the colors and floral theme that was in it. I had to use it. I would’ve never thought to use green with different shades of pink, but it worked out well! And I attempted to find washi to match, I am pretty sure I barely used any washi this week. It turned out great anyway. Sticker kits are fun. I tend to not use the entire thing though. So, I ended up using them in my mini planner!
As you can see, I was pretty excited about all the options that I had available me. I have stickers, washi tape, craft paper, and post-its to match! Anyone who is really into this planning biz, totally understands the beautiful mess that laid before me. And it was time to have some fun!
I cut out a few pieces of craft paper to fit in my squares. I guess that’s one thing I would change about the planner…if I would, I would change the weekends. I don’t like that they are all shaded in with a specific color. My OCD-self feels like I have to match everything to the colors that are already in the week. The blue and yellow is what I had used last week and I wasn’t about to continue that trend. So, I needed to break out a little bit. Even though I don’t like the colors being on there all the time, it IS more fun to have the colors in it as opposed to having a plain black and white planner…even if it’s easier at times.
Once the craft paper was down, I started to add the washi tape. I still haven’t figured out which way is best (tape first then paper or paper first then tape). Either way works fine but sometimes I have to move things around. ANYWAY….
I am realizing now why a lot of people do Plan With Me’s in a Vlog as opposed to blogging. They can kind of ramble and people will still listen. As of blogging, if it’s boring people will stop reading….
DO I STILL HAVE YOUR ATTENTION?
Welcome back. 😉 I really do like to ramble though, so I understand if people stop reading. But, enough about that and let’s get back to the photos and the planning.
I have these little binders from the Target Dollar Spot section and I have filled them with all of The Happy Planner sticker packs from Me and My Big Ideas. I now have 6 binders full and MAMBI just keeps coming out with more sticker packs! Is it weird that I MUST have them all? Any Happy Planner addict understands me with this! And if you’re new to it, just wait, you will be addicted too!
Anyway, I continued to pull stickers from the Mom Life, Productivity, Work It Out, Memory Planning, and I believe the Planner Basics packs. I will link all of these packs below. You can buy them from the MAMBI site if you’re shopping online or you can go to your nearest Michael’s. If you go online on Michael’s to get the sticker packs, it’s going to tell you “in-store only” so, that’s why you’d have to go into the store. It may change in the future but I am not too sure about that.
I was having a lot of fun with the stickers and the sticker kit that I got that I didn’t want to stop. BUT I had to so that I could leave room for the ACTUAL plans! I think the week turned out beautifully and I am pretty happy about it. I think I might be starting to get my creative groove back! YAY!
Here’s the rest of the photos. 🙂 Links for the stickers are below!
See, I used some of the leftover stickers from the Sensibly Cute Planning sticker pack, in my mini planner. I still had some left over so I added them to my new binder for my classic size planner to take with me on the go. 🙂
I am a little behind in posting this week’s plan with me but I have some fun Hingis happening this week!! Well, no activities or anything but a friend of mine from back home, came to visit me for a few days!!
It’s exciting because I’ve been in the Navy for almost 5 years now and this is the first time anyone has come to visit me. Since having the babies, I have been going home less frequently so it was about time someone came to visit ME! 😆
Along with friends visiting, that means you have to work a bit harder on getting in those workouts you had planned on. I wrote them down and I have to do them, right?! Well, I had two workouts scheduled for over the weekend and I didn’t get to them. I had a busy weekend with my friend and I just wanted to be more “lax” about it. But as you can see, I had to shift my days so this is where my stickers came in! 😂 Easy way to cover up your messes. Haha!
My friend leaves on Thursday and that sucks. 😭 But I’m looking forward to seeing her and my family again in a few months! 🙌🏽
So, I have been “planning” for majority of my life. But this past year I discovered The Happy Planner and I dove into a whole other world of planning.
This whole decorative planning got me super excited and it’s one of the crafty things that I do that I enjoy. I get to combine memory planning as well and that’s a lot like scrapbooking! Stickers, scrapbook paper, washi tape, the works! It’s fun and kind of relaxing.
I am not the best at this whole decorative planning thing, but I thought it would be fun. 🙂
So whenever I finish a week of planning, or if I think about taking photos while I am working on my weekly spread, I am going to post it in here. The idea is to have a new blog post every week. We shall see how this goes!! 🙂
For now, here is my monthly and weekly spread for the first week of January!!
Let’s talk about weddings!!! There are so many articles in magazines, blogs online, books, and opinions you can find on weddings. Seeing as I recently got engaged this month, no one would think that I would be getting married so soon! Yes, yes I am getting married so soon! It’s crazy to a lot of people to consider even getting married only weeks after the engagement. Well, my life is nothing but ordinary. The future hubs and I want to be wed as soon as possible! Believe it or not, it has nothing to do with the baby. Yes, we are having a wonderful bundle of joy but we want to be married simply because we want to spend the rest of our lives with each other. And well, it DOES make things a little easier on the military side if you are already betrothed, so to speak.
The week after the engagement, I spent a lot of time looking at Pinterest (a bride’s go-to planner) to see what I was interested in doing for our little wedding. We decided soon, intimate, and inexpensive. Well, besides a few of my cosmetics and hair care products, I am basically a bargain shopper! Heading to Pinterest sent me in many different directions on how to do this. I typed various phrases into the search box, from “eloping” to “how to have a small wedding for cheap.” Many ideas popped up, but I don’t think people realize how cheap I am trying to go here. One of my favorite options that popped up was the San Francisco City Hall wedding.
