It’s a Giveaway! – Happy Planner

img_1538 It's a Giveaway! - Happy Planner

This is so exciting. I am doing my first ever giveaway…on the blog! If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that I am one of “those crazy planner people.” It’s so true. I love using my planner and having fun with it. Unfortunately, my Plan With Me posts have slowed down quite a bit because I haven’t been decorating as much but I know I will in the near future.

But since I have a bit of an overstock of supplies and planners that I am just not going to use, I decided to do a small giveaway! This is mostly going to take place on and through my instagram but I thought I would share it on here anyway. Plus, there are more photos and I can talk a little bit more about each of the items!

So, if you want to be entered into the giveaway, be sure to check out my Instagram! Rules will be posted on the photo!! You don’t want to miss out!

Plan With Me – Last FULL Week in February and President’s Day

Hey guys! Welcome to another episode of Plan With Me! What is this? A vlog or a blog?! Haha. Well, I’ve thought about putting Plan With Me videos up on YouTube instead of writing about them and taking photos but this seems to actually work better for me. At least until I get my tripod for my camera.

img_1545 Plan With Me - Last FULL Week in February and President's Day

Anyway, not only is this the last full week in February, it is also my last week on maternity leave. Insert completely sobbing emoji here. Seriously, it sucks but I am incredibly grateful that I got 18 long weeks home with my baby girl instead of the 8 that I got with my son. I guess I am just not ready to go back to work. Oh well, just a few more months until this is more of a permanent situation!

Plan With Me – Valentine’s Day and Date Nights

dsc_0058_fotor Plan With Me - Valentine's Day and Date Nights

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Yes, I finally have a post going up on a Tuesday (even though I prefer Mondays) instead of Thursday! Better to have my PWM posts in the beginning of the week and not the end.

Anyway, I was pretty excited about this spread for the week! No washi tape was used this time. Just craft paper and stickers. As I am sure you have noticed over the past few weeks, I am a huge fan of the floral prints. So, I was super excited to use the gorgeous rose craft paper I have in this week’s spread. It was just perfect for all of the pink I was going to use for the week. dsc_0058_fotor Plan With Me - Valentine's Day and Date Nights

As for most people who have kids and work (just assuming), we are going out this weekend. Friday to be exact. A friend of ours offered to watch the kids and it’s going to be nice. I put a bottle of wine and a wine glass on there but let’s be honest…we are going to go to the gym together without the kids! That’s the first part of our date! Hey, we take what we can get. We didn’t go on all too many dates after our son was born but now that we have two kids, it’s a little more difficult to get a sitter! Plus, little girl is still on the ta-tas. Read more

Plan With Me – February 5-11

dsc_0042_fotor1 Plan With Me - February 5-11

Hey folks! It’s time for yet another “Plan With Me” post. Funny thing is, it’s Thursday and the week is almost over. But I had to try and post some photos anyway!!

I did actually find the time to decorate my Happy Planner and it was fun. It’s a big week in my life….

dsc_0042_fotor1 Plan With Me - February 5-11

MY SON TURNS TWO. Insert all the feels and the tears. That is precisely how I am feeling at the moment! It’s really great watching him grow up but it’s still so sad seeing him go form a baby to a toddler. And we are celebrating his birthday with an “un-party” if you will. It’s basically just a big play date and food for everyone. I went ALL out last year for his first birthday and I really don’t feel like doing that again to be honest. Read more

Plan With Me: Jan 30 – Feb 4 and Monthly View

On Saturday morning, I was up fairly early with my kids. They both decided that it would be fun to wake up early and keep mommy from getting rest. I was sick and later on during the weekend, they got sick too. Or vice versa. I don’t know who got who sick. But we were all sick. It wasn’t fun! Anyway, my husband was home so I took advantage of some alone time by working in my planner.

img_1699 Plan With Me: Jan 30 - Feb 4 and Monthly View

I texted that exact sentence to one of my planner friends. I sent her a photo of my planner and she loved it. Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! haha!

I really don’t mind how my planner turned out but I guess I was just so excited about how the past two weeks turned out that I was hoping this week was going to be pretty amazing as well.

I used (of course), a bunch of the happy planner sticker packs and other easy stickers I already had. I used this little sticker kit from Sunday Palm. I got this kit in a huge pack of stickers I got from someone in Planners Gone Wild. I don’t know if the easy shop exists anymore but if you come across it, let me know!

There really isn’t much to report. Not a lot going on this week. But it’s cute. haha.

Also, those stickers on the left in the pockets of the binder are from one of my FAVORITE shops! OnceMoreWithLove <3 Little Munchkins are the best!

I even worked on my monthly view for February. The funny thing about the sticker kit I used…I was able to use it in 4 different places!

My classic happy planner (weekly)
My mini happy planner
My classic fitness planner
My classic happy planner (monthly)

Quick announcement:

I am looking into starting a vlog (again) and doing my plan with me’s on there instead!! We shall see how this goes. I’d like to keep my blog going but who knows what will happen. And if you’re reading this…you’re the first to know about it! 😉

Plan With Me – January 23-29

dsc_0765_fotor Plan With Me - January 23-29

I think it’s safe to say that I’ve got my planner creativity back! A few weeks…errr, months of not planning and decorating my planner did me some good. I was busy having a baby and preparing for her arrival anyway. Adjusting to having two babies at home definitely left me with NO time for planning…I wasn’t going to go anywhere, so why plan anything?

But since I set out to decorate and be in my planner for this year, I figured I would post every week! That plan seems to be doing MUCH better than my other challenge – A Year of Me: A Selfie A Day. If you’ve been following me, you can see that isn’t happening. Oh well, I tried. I think that’s why you’re not supposed to make a million changes at the beginning of a new year. You start slow and work your way through it.

ANYWAY, this is a planner post! So, let’s talk more about washi tape, stickers, and craft paper.

dsc_0765_fotor Plan With Me - January 23-29

As you can see, there’s something new attached to my planner! I caved and bought the leather binder from Me and My Big Ideas at Michael’s. Hey, I had a 60% off coupon. I figured I might as well use it. Or was it the 60% off The Happy Planner sale? Either way, I got a good deal on it. And it’s GREAT! I love having everything I need in one little spot! I even created little pockets for my binder so that I can put some sticker sheets in them. Maybe I will do a post about what’s in my binder next week or something.

The stickers that I like to use are all of the new sticker packs that Me and My Big Ideas released not too long ago. There are TONS of stickers in these packs! And they make me so happy. Is that weird? Probably not, that’s why the planner is called The Happy Planner. I am not exactly sure what packs I used because I was in a hurry to get this done on Monday morning after my son woke up 3 hours earlier than normal. My daughter was still asleep so I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to work in my planner! I am pretty sure the sticker packs I had used came from Work It Out, Quotes, Mom Life, Memory Planning, and Productivity. Those seem to be my “go-tos” when I plan lately.

Last week, a friend of mine invited me on a trip to Hobby Lobby. Turns out, she invited me to see what kind of fabric I liked so that she could make my birthday present (how cute?!). dsc_0765_fotor Plan With Me - January 23-29But while we are there I notice that all paper crafts are 50% off…..crap. I needed up buying about 4 or 5 books of scrapbook paper and they are the prettiest pieces of paper ever! As you can see on the planner, there are some pretty, printed pieces of paper in the boxes. You’ll notice a trend…I like to cover boxes up to add more dimension and pops of color. I feel like if I used ONLY stickers, they planner would still look plain and wouldn’t really follow a “theme.”I also added a pretty rose piece of paper for a little extra depth of color form this GORGEOUS floral pack that I purchased as well.

The little bit of washi tape I had used was mainly from the Rose Gold washi tape pack from Me and My Big Ideas for The Happy Planner. Rose gold is gorgeous and very popular over the past year. I feel like 2016 was the year of rose gold…everything. Hey, I am definitely a fan. My iPhone is rose gold. I didn’t use too many of the rose gold stickers that come in the $4.99 Rose Gold sticker pack from MAMBI because…I don’t have a lot. I think they need a huge pack of JUST silver, JUST gold, JUST black, and JUST rose gold stickers. MAMBI, if you come across this page…I would love this. Thanks! 🙂 But seriously, the sticker pack is really pretty but I don’t like to use up all of my stickers on one spread!

As you can see, there isn’t a whole lot going on this week. My friend’s birthday is on Wednesday and I would’ve remembered that whether it was written down or not. We’ve been friends for about 12 years now. And then as you can see, there are little TV stickers on my week. Those were made but Fabulously Planned – love her shop – and I am so excited for this week in TV world! GREY’s ANATOMY is back!!! Not only that, I really got into How To Get Away With Murder when my daughter was born. I couldn’t work out for about 6 weeks after having her so, I caught up on every single season…til now. It didn’t take me long and now I am completely hooked. And guys, doesn’t Scandal come back too?! All of my shows on a Thursday! I don’t have cable though, so I can’t watch them until Friday anyway, but  like to note when they come on. Monday is The Bachelor. I never really kept up with it in the past 5 years but my friend from high school came to visit a couple weeks ago and now I am watching it again. Oh boy.

Friday for “Girl’s Night In” is a Lularoe Birthday party!! It’s mine. Haha. A close friend of mine became a consultant so why not host a party and have a birthday party all in one? We can all hang out and shop.

Well, that’s pretty much it for my week. And as always, this is “before the pen.” I don’t need to add too much personal information in there. 😉 If you have any questions on what I used, please feel free to ask and I will try to find where I got everything. There are links throughout the post (and below) to find some of the things I mentioned! Thanks for stopping by!

Plan With Me – Let’s Party!

img_0946 Plan With Me - Let's Party!Okay, I am not really partying this week, but it IS a week of birthdays, including my own!

I am not usually one to celebrate my birthday. I don’t usually like to and I don’t like having expectations. So, somewhere around my 16th or 17th birthday, I stopped caring so much. But somehow, people have made each and every birthday enjoyable and memorable for me. A lot happened when I was younger around my birthday (and even last year) that I kind of just, space out on it.

In the planner world though, I freaking LOVED this spread and it worked well for the birthday week!! So, I took a few photos while I was planning and then the finished product! I will link as many of the tools I used as I can at the end of the post. I realized I should give credit where credit is due! Read more

Plan With Me – 2017

So, I have been “planning” for majority of my life. But this past year I discovered The Happy Planner and I dove into a whole other world of planning.

This whole decorative planning got me super excited and it’s one of the crafty things that I do that I enjoy. I get to combine memory planning as well and that’s a lot like scrapbooking! Stickers, scrapbook paper, washi tape, the works! It’s fun and kind of relaxing.

I am not the best at this whole decorative planning thing, but I thought it would be fun. 🙂

5K for $50K

5kfor50k11 5K for $50K

Interesting title for a post, right? Well, it’s an interesting topic.

What are you drinking right now? Is it perhaps, water? I’m willing to bet that if you are drinking some water, that it’s bottled or it’s water that has been cleaned and purified. What about the water in your bath tub or shower…or even the water that you use to wash your dishes or clean your clothes? That’s probably pretty clean too.

Some people don’t have that luck. And it’s not their fault. Some children are just born into that society where it’s absolutely normal for them to see merky water. I won’t lie, if I see any sort of funny color…even just a TINGE of some sort of abnormality, I will not drink the water and I will call whoever I need to, to get it taken care of. Again, some people don’t have such luck.

Because of this, my friend Michael has chosen to do something greater. And I would like for you to meet him. 🙂 This is the best way I knew I could help him on his journey! Since I am going to have this baby in less than 2 months, I figured that trying to run a 5k every day until he reached $50K isn’t going to happen. Haha. So, this is my contribution. And I hope many of you have stuck around to read the rest of Michael’s story! I did it in question and answer format.

What is Charity:Water?

They are a non-profit organization on a mission to bring clean drinking water to every person on the planet. They’ve funded 13,644 water projects in 22 countries. And yes I took that directly from their website.

Charity-Water does three things that I love. First, they have a 100% model. This means that all of your donations go straight to the field, while private donors fund their operating costs. Second, they have a high value for transparency. They show you exactly where your money goes, to the extent that they actually install GPS units on every water project. Finally, they work locally. They have strong local partnerships in each of the countries they work with, insuring that each water project will be maintained properly.

5kfor50k11 5K for $50K

What made you decide to do this?

I’ve traveled to over 20 countries myself. I have seen the effects of extreme poverty and witnessed first hand all kinds of injustices around the world. Those experiences changed me and left me with an insatiable hunger to see life brought to the nations. I have seen so much, and become passionate about so many different causes, and for a long time I didn’t know how to move forward. There are people who need access to clean water, orphans who need a home and family, women and children who need freedom from the sex trade industry… how do you pick just one? At the same time, there are so many organizations out there who are already doing incredible work towards these causes… that is how I came up with the idea for Bloomworks.

And What is Bloomworks?

Bloomworks is an organization I’m starting. The mission is to empower people to move from apathy to engagement, and provide awareness and resources for organizations that are bringing life to the nations. The goal is to use social media, film, art, and creativity to inspire and challenge people to become part of a bigger story. As I said, I couldn’t pick just one cause, so this is my chance to support all kinds of different causes, one project at a time. The 5K for $50K is my first project.

You’re running 5k a day, what keeps you going?

Thinking about the people, who everyday have to walk three hours to fetch clean drinking water. The least I can do is run thirty minutes. I literally picture myself cheering them on, yelling that help is on the way, telling them to keep going.  And when I get tired, I picture them cheering me on, yelling right back, “Keep going!

Where did the inspiration come from?

The idea for the 5K for $50K came from a conversation at work. I can listen to podcasts at work, and one day stumbled across an interview of Scott Harrison, the founder of Charity-Water. I was so inspired by his story, and by the 100% model. I told my co-worker about it, and suggested we run 5K a day until we raised $5,000 for Charity-Water. Later, I bumped the number up to $50,000 and really got excited.

The inspiration for Bloomworks came after the 5K idea. This kind of work seems to be the intersection of my passions, talents, and desire to change the world. I love working with people, and I love using creativity to spread ideas. It became clear that there was a great opportunity to build something unique, and I am excited to see where this could go.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am 27, from Wisconsin, and most importantly, a newlywed! I love my wife and am absolutely enjoying the adventure that is our first year of marriage. We met in Spain, both of us were attending G42, a six-month leadership academy tucked away on the side of a mountain overlooking the Mediterranean. We had our wedding date set and venue booked by the 28th day of our relationship. 10 months later we were married. New Years was our one-year anniversary of being together.

I love the outdoors, competitive sports, craft beer, and movies. I’ve recorded some spoken word films and recently written a book, which you can find on my website if interested.

5kfor50k11 5K for $50K

Besides the obvious, why are YOU doing this?

Someone has to do something. It might as well be me. Whether I get five, or five thousand people to join me, I will be satisfied. I believe all it really takes to change the world is one committed person. At the same time I know others will join and our influence will only multiply.

Do you have anyone joining you in this?

Yes! Actually a friend of mine from Texas just told me he was going to run 5K a day as well. I’m excited!

Was this planned or spur of the moment?

I am someone who gets lots of vision all the time, and there were plenty of ideas I was toying with leading up to the New Year. A mentor of mine once told me, “When you have too many dreams, just pick one or two to start, and the rest can come later.” This idea was one I was most passionate about. With New Years approaching, it seemed like a great time to start something.

Did you properly train for this or just jump into it? (the running)

Ummm no. No training, haha. In fact, the most I had run leading up to the New Year, was maybe five times in five months. Now I’m running 5K a day. Needless to say, I have been icing my knee all night.

Are you having fun while doing it?

I am having lots of fun! I love listening to music while I run, and I feel like I am changing the world with every step I take. Sometimes I feel pain in my knee with every step I take, but that’s when I just turn the music up.

What are you going to do after you’ve reached your deadline or your goal?

I am going to pick another organization, brainstorm an idea of how to advocate for them, pick a goal amount to raise, and launch it! I have no idea what that will be, but I am excited! That is the beauty of Bloomworks. For now, I am focusing on this campaign. We have a long way to go, and lots of work to be done to hit the goal amount before the deadline.

Michael has a HUGE heart for this and I am incredibly inspired by it! I continue to follow him on instagram and facebook to see how things are going. You definitely can too! Michael’s instagram is

Also, I wanted to post this on here…I really liked what he added to his instagram post on Day 12.

5kfor50k11 5K for $50K
“In Africa alone, people spend 40 billion hours every year walking for water. Women and children usually bear the burden of water collection, walking miles to the nearest source, which is unprotected and likely contaminated.
Time spent walking and resulting diseases keep them from school, work and taking care of their families. Along their long walk, they’re subjected to a greater risk of harassment and sexual assault. With safe water nearby, women are free to pursue new opportunities and improve their families’ lives.

I’m doing 5k a day until we raise $50,000 for clean water projects. Over $900 raised so far!! Join the movement!

#bloomworks #5Kfor50K #running #run #instagood”

Please help the cause! It’s a great one with all the right intentions! I will be with you on this one Michael and I will also be joining you on the next project!! 🙂
